1. Who we are
GamblingLore.com (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent editorial platform covering the gambling industry. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit gamblinglore.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect
Launch-list signups. If you subscribe to be notified when we launch, we collect and store:
- your email address;
- the date and time of your signup;
- your country (derived from your connection by our hosting provider);
- your browser’s user-agent string; and
- an automated spam indicator produced by Cloudflare Turnstile (see section 6).
Technical data. The site is served by Vercel. Like virtually all websites, IP addresses and request metadata are processed transiently for security purposes — rate limiting, bot detection and abuse protection. We do not use this data to profile visitors.
Analytics. We use a self-hosted instance of Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to measure aggregate site traffic: pages visited, referrer, browser and device type, and country. Umami does not use cookies, does not track you across other sites, and anonymizes visit data so we cannot identify individual visitors. Because the instance runs on our own infrastructure, this data is not shared with any third-party analytics company.
There are no user accounts, no payments and no gambling services on this site, and we do not collect any information beyond what is described above.
3. How we use your information
- To notify you when GamblingLore.com launches and to send occasional updates about our publication.
- To protect the site and the signup form from abuse and automated spam.
- To understand aggregate readership and improve the site, using the anonymous analytics described in section 2.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
4. Legal basis and your choices
We process your email address on the basis of your consent, which you give by submitting the signup form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing hello@gamblinglore.com or using the unsubscribe option included in any email we send — we will remove your address from our list.
5. Storage and retention
Subscriber data is stored in Cloudflare Workers KV, Cloudflare’s encrypted key-value storage. We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or until the launch-notification list has served its purpose, after which it is deleted or migrated (with the same protections) into our regular newsletter system.
6. Service providers
- Vercel — hosting and content delivery for this site. Vercel processes connection data (including IP addresses) to serve pages and protect the site. See Vercel’s privacy policy.
- Cloudflare — storage for the subscriber list (Workers KV) and the Turnstile anti-bot check that protects the signup form. Cloudflare processes connection data (including IP addresses) to deliver these services. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- Turso and Vercel Blob — the database and media storage behind our content management system. These hold our published articles and images, not information about you.
The typefaces used on this site are served from our own domain, not from a third-party font service, so loading a page does not disclose your IP address to a font provider.
7. Cookies
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies — our self-hosted analytics (section 2) works entirely without cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile, which protects our signup form, may set strictly necessary cookies used solely to distinguish humans from bots. These are functional security cookies, not tracking cookies.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. We honour these requests regardless of jurisdiction: email hello@gamblinglore.com and we will respond promptly. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
9. Age restriction
GamblingLore.com covers the gambling industry and is intended for readers aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted their email address, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version, and material changes will be noted on this page.
