Thai Police Raid 11 Locations in Shuffle Gambling Probe

Thai cyber police searched 11 locations in Bangkok and other provinces as part of an investigation into online casino and sportsbook Shuffle.com. Police reported 11 arrests and said officers seized mobile phones and computers from residences for forensic examination.

Police said some suspects admitted involvement while others denied it. One suspect who confessed was taken to a district court on November 5 and sentenced to prison. Police gave no sentence length in the briefing reported by Thairath and did not say whether any of the 11 suspects worked for Shuffle.

Police started with players in Thailand

Justice Minister Rutthapon Naowarat said on November 4 that police had identified three Thai nationals who gambled on Shuffle from within Thailand. He said financial records showed transfers to the site and investigators were still establishing the amounts and frequency. It remains unclear how those three individuals overlap with the 11 suspects reported in the raids.

Police said they began with players in Thailand because Shuffle is based overseas. Investigators received transaction records from three digital asset exchanges. A police spokesperson said the evidence gathered from local players would help investigators look into who organized the gambling operation.

Investigators examine crypto transfers

Thailand’s Department of Special Investigation (DSI) is examining transactions linked to Shuffle. Bitkub’s legal team met investigators on November 3 about 49 customers who, according to the justice minister, transferred more than 100 million baht in cryptocurrency to the site. The minister said Bitkub cited technical limits on screening transactions and that the DSI planned to seek information from all 11 digital asset operators licensed by Thailand’s securities regulator.

The DSI is also examining possible links between Australian entrepreneur Zhang Taiyang, the husband of Bhumjaithai MP Suchada Zhang Thaensap, and an alleged online gambling and scam network. The minister said investigators had questioned Zhang and had yet to question Suchada. He said any move to freeze or seize their assets would depend on the evidence.

Suchada previously denied wrongdoing and said her husband sold his stake in a company linked to Shuffle before she became an MP.

Thailand’s online gambling crackdown

Thailand’s Department of Special Investigation says the review of Shuffle’s crypto transactions is part of its inquiry into whether an MP’s husband had links to an alleged online gambling and scam network. Thailand’s Anti-Money Laundering Office is examining whether the movement of funds points to possible money laundering or other offenses. The DSI says it is also working with overseas authorities to identify directors and shareholders of companies linked to Shuffle and find out who registered the site’s domain.

For cyber police, the immediate question is whether people placed bets from inside Thailand. Police spokesperson Siriwat Deepho said evidence of gambling within the country would give investigators a basis to pursue the people behind the offshore site.

Thailand’s broader crackdown has focused on blocking access to online gambling. The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society reported blocking 945,075 gambling-related URLs in the fiscal year ended September 2026. The figure counts web addresses. Cyber police have described how they intend to build a case against the people behind Shuffle, but authorities have yet to name other offshore operators they intend to prosecute.
