Gambling Community Raises More Than $200,000 as Cancer Fundraiser Reaches Goal

Members of the gambling community have rallied behind latedieyoung and his family after he shared that his 34-year-old sister is receiving treatment for stage 4 ovarian carcinosarcoma.

Kate, an artist and designer, began experiencing pain while living in Croatia in June. Doctors found a tumour on her right ovary and performed emergency surgery to remove it and the affected ovary.

Four weeks later, she returned to hospital for scans showing the cancer had returned and was growing rapidly. Her family moved her to Munich for specialist care at TUM, where she began chemotherapy in late August. Six cycles are planned, with scans monitoring her response.

Because Kate does not have German health insurance, her family says it must cover chemotherapy, scans, medication, specialist care and relocation costs. The fundraiser set a €200,000 goal to pay for her treatment and related medical expenses.

Gambling Community Carries Fundraiser to €200,000 Goal

The response began almost immediately. Within an hour, latedieyoung said $8,600 had been raised. The total reached $55,000 within 24 hours through GoFundMe and cryptocurrency donations, while the original post passed 250,000 views on X.

Support began to pour in for Kate as Roobet donated $10,000 and Trainwreckstv sent $50,000. Latedieyoung then reported $119,504 raised across GoFundMe and the family’s crypto wallets.

Duel later contributed $67,000, bringing the total to €180,000. Winna then donated the final $20,000 needed to reach the €200,000 goal. Latedieyoung said treatment updates and every payment would be shared through Kate’s account, alongside a record of how the funds are spent.

How the Funds Will Be Used and Tracked

The GoFundMe is organised by Kate’s close friend Antonia Schwaiger. The family says GoFundMe donations will be transferred or used for Kate’s treatment, while cryptocurrency contributions go directly to Kate’s wallets.

If the campaign raises more than Kate’s treatment and care require, the family plans to donate the remaining funds to the German Ovarian Cancer Foundation and Ovarian Cancer Action UK.

Latedieyoung and Kate also created @kategaidamaka to publish treatment updates, medical invoices and expenses, giving donors a continuing record of how the funds are being used.

The campaign has now reached its €200,000 target while Kate continues treatment. With the fundraising goal met, the focus now turns to the family and Kate as she begins her treatments and the journey ahead to recovery.
