Wynn's flagship UAE casino resort has been delayed until September 2027 as the company grapples with higher development costs and logistical challenges.

Wynn Resorts has pushed back the opening of its flagship integrated resort in the United Arab Emirates, with Wynn Al Marjan Island now scheduled to welcome guests in September 2027 instead of its previously targeted spring debut. The revised timeline was announced alongside the company's second-quarter earnings results.
The project, located on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, is expected to become the UAE's first licensed casino resort following Wynn's receipt of the country's inaugural commercial gaming operator license in 2024.
Higher Costs Follow Regional Disruptions
Wynn also disclosed that the development's estimated cost has increased to approximately $5.7 billion, up roughly $600 million from previous guidance.
Company executives said the increase reflects a combination of supply chain disruption, higher shipping and insurance costs, and broader construction inflation. Regional instability earlier this year affected logistics across the Middle East, forcing contractors to reroute shipments and source alternative materials while keeping construction moving.
Despite those challenges, Wynn said work on the resort has continued, with construction teams remaining on schedule to complete the project ahead of its revised opening.
UAE's First Commercial Casino
Wynn Al Marjan Island represents one of the most significant gaming developments outside of the traditional casino markets.
Once complete, the resort will feature more than 1,500 hotel rooms and suites, extensive food and beverage offerings, retail space, entertainment venues, meeting facilities, and a casino operating under the UAE's newly established commercial gaming framework. The property is expected to play a central role in Ras Al Khaimah's efforts to expand its tourism industry.
Strong Quarter for Wynn Resorts
The project update accompanied stronger-than-expected quarterly results for Wynn Resorts, driven largely by continued performance in Macau.
The company exceeded analyst expectations for both revenue and profit, with investors responding positively following the earnings release. While development costs in the UAE have increased, Wynn continues to describe the Al Marjan project as one of its most important long-term growth initiatives.
Although visitors will need to wait several additional months before the resort opens, Wynn remains on track to introduce the UAE's first regulated casino destination in September 2027, marking a milestone for both the company and the country's emerging commercial gaming industry.
